Clinical effect of Bifidobacterium Quadruple Viable Tablets combined with Buzhong Yiqi Decoction in the treatment of weak spleen and stomach type senile chronic diarrhea

Abstract：Objective To explore the clinical effect of Bifidobacterium Quadruple Viable Tablets combined with Buzhong Yiqi Decoction in the treatment of weak spleen and stomach type senile chronic diarrhea. Methods A total of 120 patients with weak spleen and stomach type senile chronic diarrhea admitted to Yangjiang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2019 to January 2021 were selected as the research subjects, and they were divided into conventional group and combined group by coin flipping method, with 60 cases in each group. Patients in the conventional group were treated with Bifidobacterium Quadruple Viable Tablets, while patients in the combined group were treated with Buzhong Yiqi Decoction on the basis of the conventional group. The efficacy, symptom improvement, diarrhea relief time and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in the total effective rate between the two groups (P＞0.05). Symptom scores after treatment in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and symptom score after treatment in combined group was lower than that in the conventional group, the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05). The diarrhea relief time in combined group was shorter than that in conventional group, and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05). There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P＞0.05). Conclusion The therapeutic effect of Bifidobacterium Quadruple Viable Tablets combined with Buzhong Yiqi Decoction in treating of weak spleen and stomach type senile chronic diarrhea is basically equivalent to that of Bifidobacterium Quadruple Viable Tablets alone, but the symptoms of patients with combine Buzhong Yiqi Decoction are more improved, and the relief time of diarrhea is shorter.
