Abstract:Objective To investigate the application value of magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)and mammography in the diagnosis of lesion size and pathological classification before radical mastectomy. Methods The clinical data of 80 breast cancer patients admitted to Shangrao People′s Hospital from September 2019 to September 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into MRI group(41 cases)and breast mammography group(39 cases)according to the different methods of preoperative examinations. In the MRI group,MRI scanning before surgery was used, and in the mammography group, mammography before surgery was performed. The postoperative pathological result was set the gold standard. The diagnostic values of size and pathological classification of the two groups before radical mastectomy were compared. Results Postoperative pathological results showed that in 80 patients undergoing radical mastectomy, the lesion size was 2 to 4 cm3,with an average size of(2.95±0.31)cm3.The size of the tumor detected before radical mastectomy in the MRI group did not differ statistically after comparing with the postoperative pathological results (P>0.05).The size tumors detected in breast mammography group was smaller than that in the postoperative pathological results, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The overall coincidence rate of pathological classification in the MRI group before radical mastectomy was 90.24% (37/41),which was significantly higher than 64.10%(25/39)in the breast mammography group(χ2=7.833,P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with mammography mammography, the diagnosis of tumor size before radical mastectomy by MRI is closer to the pathological results after surgery, and the accuracy of pathological classification is higher.
