Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of rolling method combined with epidural labor analgesia on promoting natural labor. Methods From August 2020 to March 2021, 70 primiparas with vaginal labor in the Pingxiang Maternity and Child Health Hospital in Jiangxi Province were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into the control group and the observation group according to random number table method, with 35 cases in each group. The primiparas in the control group received epidural analgesia after the uterine orifice opening 3 cm and awaiting delivery in supine position. In the observation group, rolling combined with epidural labor analgesia was performed after the opening of the uterine orifice was 3 cm wide. The first stage of labor, uterine contraction pain, postpartum hemorrhage, maternal delivery outcome, and the condition of newborn birth were compared between the two groups. Results The first stage of labor in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group, the uterine contraction pain score in the observation group was lower than that of the control group, the amount of postpartum hemorrhage in the observation group was less than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The rate of natural childbirth in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, the total incidence rate of adverse birth outcomes such as maternal lateral resection, soft birth canal injury, and postpartum massive hemorrhage in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The total incidence of neonatal adverse reactions such as fetal distress, neonatal asphyxia, and neonatal infection in the observation group (5.71%) was lower than that of the control group (28.57%), the Apgar score of the newborn in the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The rolling method combined with epidural labor analgesia can shorten the labor process, alleviate the pain of uterine contractions, reduce postpartum hemorrhage, increase the natural delivery rate, and improve the maternal and infant outcome.
