Effect of continuous midwife care combined with maternal weight management during pregnancy on maternal negative emotions and maternal and infant outcomes

Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of continuous nursing by midwives combined with weight management during pregnancy on maternal negative emotions and maternal and infant outcomes.Methods A total of 180 primiparas admitted to Women and Children′s Hospital Affiliated to Xiamen University from February 2019 to February 2020 were selected as the research objects.According to random number table method,they were divided into the control group(90 cases)and the experimental group(90 cases).The control group was treated with routine nursing method,and the experimental group was treated with midwife continuous nursing combined with pregnancy weight management method.The negative emotions and maternal and infant outcomes of primiparas in the two groups were compared.Results The incidence of pregnancy complications in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group,and the vaginal delivery rate was higher than that in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of negative emotions in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group,the incidence of macrosomia and low weight infants in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Midwife continuous care combined with weight management during pregnancy can help to eliminate or reduce the negative emotions of primiparas about the upcoming birth and improve the maternal and infant outcomes after delivery.
