Abstract:Objective To analyze the epidemic characteristics of mumps in Yizhuang Community, Daxing, Beijing from 2005 to 2020, and provide scientific basis for formulating effective prevention and control strategies. Methods The epidemiological characteristics of mumps were analyzed by using descriptive epidemiology method to collect the information of mumps report cards from 2005 to 2020 in Yizhuang Community of Daxing, Beijing. Results From 2005 to 2020,302 cases of mumps were reported in Yizhuang Community, Daxing District, Beijing, with a reported incidence of 23.22/100,000. The number of cases was highest in May (36.23/100,000) and lowest in December (16.57/100,000). The incidence was mainly concentrated in May and September, accounting for 23.20% of all cases, with the highest incidence in spring and autumn. The incidence ratio of male to female was 1.74:1, and the incidence rate of male was higher than that of female, with statistical significance (P<0.05). Students and children living in childcare centers were the main groups, accounting for 70.53%. Conclusion While strengthening the monitoring of mumps, a reasonable vaccination plan should be adopted. It is recommended that students in kindergarten schools and the students at school should be checked for missed mumps vaccines.
