Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effect of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in the elderly patients with coronary heart disease and angina pectoris. Methods A total of 80 elderly patients with coronary heart disease and angina pectoris admitted to Haimen People′s Hospital from January 2016 to December 2018 were selected as the research objects, they were divided into the conservative treatment group (40 cases) and the PCI group (40 cases) according to the random number table method and voluntary principles. The conservative treatment group received conventional drug therapy, and the PCI group received PCI treatment, followed up for 12 months. The total effectiveness of treatment, Seattle angina questionnaire (SAQ) score, cardiac adverse events (recurrent angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, cardiogenic death) were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of PCI group was 97.50%, higher than that of conservative group (85.00%), the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The SAQ scores of PCI group (angina attack, angina stable state, limited physical activity, subjective feeling and treatment plan satisfaction) were all higher than those of the conservative group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of cardiac adverse events between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion PCI has a significant clinical effect on angina pectoris in elderly patients with coronary heart disease, which can improve the quality of life of elderly patients with coronary heart disease and angina pectoris, and is worthy of clinical application.
