Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of Propofol combined with Remifentanil total intravenous anesthesia in children with inguinal hernia (IH) in early childhood. Methods The clinical data of 80 infants with IH admitted to Quanzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital and Children′s Hospital from September 2019 to September 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. According to different anesthesia schemes, they were divided into the study group and the control group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received combined intravenous anesthesia with Sevoflurane and Remifentanil, and the study group received total intravenous anesthesia with Propofol combined with Remifentanil. The effect of anesthesia, recovery from anesthesia, levels of inflammatory factors (C-reactive protein [CRP], tumor necrosis factor-α [TNF-α]) 3, 24 h after operation and the total incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results There was no statistically significant difference in the anesthesia effect between the two groups (P>0.05). The time to open eyes, the time to remove the laryngeal mask, and the recovery time of spontaneous breathing in the study group were shorter than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in serum CRP and TNF-α levels between the two groups before surgery(P>0.05). The serum CRP and TNF-α levels of the study group were lower than those of the control group at 3, 24 h after surgery, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The serum CRP and TNF-α levels of the two groups at 12 h after operation were lower than those at 3 hours after operation, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The total incidence of adverse reactions in the study group was 2.50% (1/40), which was lower than 20.00%(8/40)in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Propofol combined with remifentanil for total intravenous anesthesia in children with IH in early childhood can effectively improve the recovery from anesthesia, reduce the impact on serum inflammatory factors, with fewer adverse reactions and high safety.
