Effect of sedation depth of intravenous inhalational anesthesia on cognitive function of patients undergoing laparoscopic radical resection of cervical cancer

Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of different sedation depths of intravenous inhalational anesthesia on the cognitive function of patients undergoing laparoscopic radical resection of cervical cancer.Methods A total of 80 patients undergoing laparoscopic radical cervical cancer surgery in Dalian Jinpu New District Maternal and Child Health Hospital from December 2017 to August 2019 were selected as research subjects.They were divided into the control group and the observation group by random drawing method,with 40 cases in each group.Deep anesthesia with the bispectral index(BIS)set as 40-50 was used in the observation group,while light anesthesia with the BIS set as 51-60 in the control group.The blood loss and blood pressure during surgery,postoperative wake-up time,time to speak after surgery and extubation time of the two groups were compared.The time to finish trail making test(TMT)and score of mini mental state scale(MMSE)before and after anesthesia were also compared.Results There were no statistically significant differences in intraoperative blood loss,blood pressure,wake-up time,time to speak,and extubation time between the two groups(P>0.05).The MMSE score(27.32±0.81)points of the observation group at 1 d after anesthesia was higher than in control group(23.78±0.54)points,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Time to finish TMT(40.02±1.34)s of the observation group at 1 d after anesthesia was shorter than in the control group(43.89±1.25)s,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of patients undergoing laparoscopic radical resection of cervical cancer,deep intravenous inhalation anesthesia with BIS ranging from 40-50 can facilitate the postoperative cognitive recovery,and it is worthy of promotion and implementation in clinical practice.
