Effect of mind map health education on disease knowledge cognition and rehabilitation effect of family members of children with pneumonia

Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of mind map health education on disease knowledge cognition and rehabilitation effect of family members of children with pneumonia.Methods From April 2018 to April 2020,94 children with pneumonia and 94 family members were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to random number table method,with 47 cases in each group.The control group was given routine health education,while the observation group was given mind mapping health education.The cognition level of disease knowledge,satisfaction,recovery and medication compliance of the families of the two groups were compared.Results Before the intervention,there was no significant difference in the cognition level of disease knowledge between the two groups(P>0.05).After intervention,the scores of disease knowledge cognition level of family members in the two groups were higher than those before intervention,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention,the disease knowledge cognition level of the families in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total satisfaction of the families of children in the observation group was 97.87%,which was higher than that in the control group(80.85%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The time of cough disappearance([6.26±1.25]d),body temperature recovery time([4.03±1.17]d),lung rales disappearance time([5.48±1.39]d)and hospital stay([6.42±1.23]d)in the observation group were all shorter than those in the control group([7.83±1.64],[5.14±1.28],[6.54±1.75],[7.67±1.84]d),the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The medication compliance of the observation group was better than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Mind map health education can significantly improve the knowledge level and satisfaction of the family members of children with pneumonia,and accelerate the rehabilitation process of children.
