Influence of nasal endoscopic surgery combined with glucocorticoids on serum inflammatory factors and recurrence in patients with nasal polyps

Abstract：Objective To investigate the clinical effect of nasal endoscopic surgery combined with glucocorticoids in the treatment of patients with nasal polyps.Methods A total of 82 patients with nasal polyps admitted to the Third Hospital of Nanchang City in Jiangxi Province and the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from January 2018 to August 2019 were selected as study subjects.According to the random number table method,they were divided into the combined group(41 cases)and the control group(41 cases).The control group was treated with nasal endoscopic surgery,and the combined group was treated with glucocorticoid on the basis of the control group.Perioperative indicators,clinical efficacy,inflammatory factors and recurrence were compared between the two groups.Results Intraoperative blood loss in the combined group was less than that in the control group,the length of hospital stay and operation time in the combined group were shorter than those in the control group,and the total effective rate of treatment in the combined group was higher than that in the control group,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).The levels of IL-17 and IL-5 in the combined group at 6 months after surgery were(2.65±1.05)g/L and(152.64±21.65)ng/L,which were lower than those in the control group([3.35±1.21]g/L and([182.21±25.21]ng/L),with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).The recurrence rate of the combined group was 4.88%,which was lower than that of the control group(24.39%),and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion Nasal endoscopic surgery combined with glucocorticoid in the treatment of nasal polyps can improve the treatment effect,reduce blood loss,shorten the operation time and hospital stay,reduce the level of inflammatory factors and the recurrence rate.
