Abstract:Objective To investigate the application effect of bedside blind-inserted spiral nasal jejunal tube in nutritional support for patients with severe acute pancreatitis (SAP). Methods A total of 64 patients with SAP admitted to our hospital from December 2016 to December 2018 were enrolled as subjects. All patients underwent enteral nutrition support with a spiral nasal jejunal tube. According to admission order, the patients were divided into the study group(n=32) and reference group (n=32). In the reference group, the patients were intubated aided with gastroscopy. In the study group, the patients were intubated by bedside blind insertion. The success rate of catheterization was compared between the two groups. The pain scores during catheterization and the occurrence of complications related to catheterization were observed. Results The difference in the success rate of catheterization between the two groups had no statistical significance (P>0.05). The visual analogue scale (VAS) score of the study group was lower than that of the reference group, with statistical difference (P<0.05). The incidence of complications including dyspnea, aspiration, nausea, vomiting and hemorrhage in the study group was lower than that in the reference group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no statistical significance in the incidence of abdominal pain and the complication of upper gastrointestinal perforation (P>0.05). Conclusion In the enteral nutrition support for patients with SAP, the bedside blind insertion of spiral nasal jejunal tube used for intubation is a simple and easy operation. It deserves promoting and applying in clinic because of its advantages including mild pain, few complications, low cost and demand for equipment.
