Application of PDCA cycle in the management of adverse events of nondrug therapy in traditional Chinese Medicine

Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of PDCA cycle in the management of adverse events of nondrug therapy in traditional Chinese Medicine. Methods The adverse events of non-drug therapy of traditional Chinese medicine in the Third People′s Hospital of Jiangmen City from January to June 2017 were analyzed retrospectively, and PDCA cycle was applied for management from January to June 2018.After PDCA management, the incidence of adverse events of non-drug therapy in traditional Chinese medicine was analyzed and compared with that before PDCA management.At the same time, the total satisfaction of patients before and after PDCA management was counted. Results The incidence rate of adverse events of non-drug therapy of traditional Chinese medicine after PDCA management was lower than that before PDCA management, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The patients′ total satisfaction after PDCA management was higher than that before PDCA management, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion PDCA cycle management method can reduce the incidence of adverse events in non-drug therapy of traditional Chinese medicine, and improve satisfaction of patients.
