Abstract:Objective To compare the clinical efficacy of Minocycline Hydrochloride and Metronidazole Sticks in the treatment of periodontitis. Methods Twenty-two patients with chronic periodontitis admitted to our hospital from August 2016 to August 2017 were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method,11 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with Minocycline Hydrochloride Ointment, and the control group was treated with Metronidazole Sticks. The periodontal clinical conditions, submicron microbiology, and the incidence rate of adverse drug reactions were observed before and after treatment in the two groups. Results there was no significant difference in the clinical and microbiological conditions between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05),and the values of PLI,PD,GI,BOP,the number of bacilli and spirals after treatment at 7,14 d in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the number of staphylococci after treatment in the two groups after treatment at 7,14 d was higher than those before treatment(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in clinical situation, microbiology and the incidence rate of adverse reactions between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05).Conclusion Both Minocycline Hydrochloride and Metronidazole Sticks are effective drugs for periodontitis. They have safe and reliable characteristics, and the two drugs have similar efficacy.
