Abstract:ObjectiveTo compare the clinical effects of platelet-rich plasma(PRP)and sodium hyaluronate(SH)in the treatmentof knee osteoarthritis.MethodsA total of 80 patientswith knee osteoarthritiswhowere hospitalized in our hospital from March 2016 toMay 2017were divided into PRPgroup and SH group according to random number table,40 cases in each group.PRP group was injected with PRP in the joint cavity,and the SH group was treated with SH in the joint cavity.Theywere performed once aweek for 5 times.Both groupswere provided with wax,microwave,and ultrasound therapies.Thewestern ontario andmcmaster universities osteoarthritis index scale(WOMAC)and visual analogue scale(VAS)were evaluated for effects before treatment,just after therapy,and 3 and 6months after treatment during follow up visits.The radiographic results of knee joints using magnetic resonance imaging were compared before and 6 months after treatment.ResultsTheWOMAC score and VASscorewere significantly lower in the two groups after treatment than those before treatment(P<0.05).Thescores in the PRPgroupwas lower than those in the SH group justafter therapy,3 and 6months after treatment,with statistical differences(P<0.05).The improvement rate in the PRP group was better than that in the SH group aftermagnetic resonance imaging detection,with a significant difference(P<0.05).ConclusionBoth PRP and SH are effective in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis,and the effect in the PRP ismore remarkable.
