Objective To explore the application of solution-focused approach on psychological nursing in first-episode depression patients in order to provide theoretical guidance for clinical nursing. Methods A total of 172 patients with first-episode depression admitted into our hospital from January 2010 to January 2015 were selected. The patients were evenly divided into observation group and control group by a random number table. In the control group, regular psychological nursing was used, while in the observation group, combination of the conventional mode and solution-focused approach were adopted. The anxiety and depression before and after intervention were compared and analyzed by self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)and self-rating depression scale(SDS)in the two groups. Results Before intervention, there were no statistical differences in scores of SDS and SAS in both groups(P>0.05).After intervention, the scores of SDS and SAS in the two groups were all greatly lower than those before, with statisticant differences(P<0.01),after intervention, there were statisticant differences in scores of SDS and SAS(P<0.01).Conclusion Solution-focused approach has a significant guiding effect on the first-episode depression, which can improve the patient′s mental state and help patients effectively alleviate anxiety and depression.
