Abstract:ObjectiveTo compare the clinical effects of open reduction&internal fixation and external fixator combined with internal fixation in the treatment of distal radius fractures in elderly patients so as to provide scientific evidence for clinical treatment.M ethodsAltogether 71 cases of elderly patientswith distal radius fractureswho were treated in our hospital from July 2015 to November 2016 were selected and divided into the observation group (38 cases)and the control group(33 cases)according to the random number tablemethod.The observation group was treated external fixator combined with internal fixation,the control group was treated with open reduction&internal fixation.The excellent and good rate ofwrist restoration,the inclination of the palm and the degree of ulnar deviation at different postoperative stageswere compared between the two groups.ResultsThe excellent and good rate of overallwrist activity of the observation group was 92.1%,which was significantly higher than that of the control group (66.7%),with significant difference (P<0.05).The inclination of the palm and the degree of ulnar deviation at post-operative 3 and 6months,the post-operative radius height of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group,the step height of radius articular surface of the observation group was lower than that of the control group,with significant difference (P<0.05).The incidence rate of complication of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group,with significant difference (P<0.05).ConclusionThe combination of external fixator and internal fixation is effective in the treatment of elderly patientswith distal radius fractures,which achieves good overall rate ofwrist joint and good clinical effect and isworth popularizingwidely.
