Abstract:Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of sublingual immunotherapy with Dermatophagoides Farinae Drops for children with allergic asthma.Methods Thirty-three children with allergic asthma admitted from August 2011 to July 2015 in maternal and child health care hospital of Jingdezhen city were selected into this study,from 4 to 14 years old,with mite-sensitive allergic asthma were treated sublingual immunotherapy with Dermatophagoides Farinae Drops.The clinical efficacy was evaluated by monthly follow-up visits.After treatment for 12 or 24 months using the standarlized Dermatophagoides Farinae Extract,the asthma symptom scores and adverse reactions before and after treatmentwere evaluated.Results Thirty-three children were completed more than two years treatment.The allergic asthma symptom scores before treatment during the day were(2.33±0.98)scores and at night(1.98±0.74)scores.After 12 months year of treatment,the day and night scores[(1.39±0.66),(1.39±0.79)scores respectively]were decreased significantly(t valuewas 4.54 and 5.49 respectively,all P<0.01).After 24months of treatment,the scores[(0.61±0.48),(0.09± 0.29)scores]were also decreased significantly(t value was 3.11 and 3.69 respectively,all P<0.01).Conclusion Sublingual immunotherapy with Dermatophagoides Farinae Drops can significantly improve symptoms in children with allergic asthma and lower incidence of adverse reactions,so it is effective and safe in the treatment of children with allergic asthma.
