Abstract:Objective To study the effect of minimally invasive plate fixation in the treatment of ulnar fracture. Methods From February 2013 to February 2015,100 patients with ulnar fractures admitted into our hospital were selected.By drawing lots, they were evenly divided into open reduction group and minimally invasive plate group. In the open reduction group, open reduction with plate fixation was adopted, while in the minimally invasive plate group, minimal way for plate fixation was used. The excellent and good rate of wrist joints and incidence of complications including postoperative infection, slippage of internal fixation, arthralgia, and delayed fracture healing were observed. The HHS score of elbow joint and Gartland-Werley score of wrist joint before and after surgery, operation time, hospital stay, and healing time were compared. Results Compared with the open reduction group, excellent and good rate in the minimally invasive plate group was higher accounting for 98.00%,while the rate was 74.00%in the former group with a statistical difference(P<0.05).In the minimally invasive plate group, the incidence of complications including postoperative infection, slippage of internal fixation, arthralgia, and delayed fracture healing was much lower, which was displayed a statistical difference(P<0.05).Before surgery, the HHS score of elbow joint and Gartland-Werley score of wrist joint were similar without statistical differences in both groups(P>0.05).After surgery, the HHS score and Gartland-Werley score were greatly improved compared with those before with statistical differences(P<0.05).The improvement in the minimally invasive plate group was much higher than that of open reduction group, with a statistical difference (P<0.05).The operation time, hospital stay, and healing time in the minimally invasive plate group were much shorter in comparison with those in the open reduction group with statistical differences(P<0.05).Conclusion Minimally invasive plate fixation can obtain a definite effect on treating ulnar fracture at advantages of simple performance, small wound, and few postoperative complications, and can shorten hospital stay, accelerate bone fracture healing, and improve patient′s elbow joint and wrist joint functions, which is worthy of promotion.
