Correlation analysis of aromatic hydrocarbon receptor and recurrent spontaneous abortion

Abstract:Objective To analyze the correlation between aromatic hydrocarbon receptor (AHR)and human chorionic gonadotropin(HCG),estradiol(E2),progesterone(P),estrogen receptor(ER),and progesterone receptor(PR),and to explore the relationship between AHR and recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA).Methods From December 2016 to March 2017,30 RSA patients treated in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology,Shanxi Academy of Medical Sciences were selected as the research group.30 patients with abortion requiring in normal early pregnancy were categorized into the control group.The peripheral blood,villi and decidua tissues were collected.The levels of serum AHR,HCG,E2,P,ER and PR from villi and decidua tissues were detected and statistically analyzed.Results The AHR levels in the villi and decidua tissues in the research group were significantly higher than those in the normal control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the serum AHR levels between the two groups(P>0.05).The level of serum HCG,P and E2in the research group were significantly lower compared with those in the normal control group (P<0.05).The levels of ER and PR in villus and decidua tissues in the research group were significantly lower,in comparison with those in the control group (P<0.05).There was no correlation between the serum AHR and HCG,P and E2.The AHR in the villi and decidua tissues was not correlated with ER or PR in the corresponding areas.Conclusion The elevated AHR in human may lead to RSA,especially the increase of AHR in the local villi and decidua tissues.The decrease of ER and PR expression is also the cause of RSA.However,the increase of AHR is not associated with ER or PR.Increase of AHR will may directly influence on pregnancy outcome or by other pathways except ER and PR.Meanwhile,ER and PR will not affect the rise of AHR,either.
