Clinical effectiveness of closed reduction and internal fixation with PFNA combined with Huayu Jiegu Decoction in the treatment of senile femoral intertrochanteric fracture

Abstract：Objective To investigate the clinical effect of closed reduction and internal fixation with PFNA combined with Huayu Jiegu Decoction in the treatment of senile femoral intertrochanteric fracture.Methods Altogether 130 cases of elderly patients with femoral intertrochanteric fracture who were treated in our hospital from August 2012 to June 2016 were selected as the research object,and randomly divided into the control group and the study group according to the simple averaging method,with 65 cases in each group.The control group was given conventional surgery,the study group was given oral Huayu Jiegu Decoction on the basis of routine surgery.The fracture healing situation of the two groups was observed by using X-ray film postoperatively,and the fracture healing days of the two groups were recorded.The hip joint function status was evaluated at postoperative 3 months by using the Harris hip score standard.Results The excellent rate of the study group was higher than that of the control group,with statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).The clinical healing days of the study group was less than that of the control group,with statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).At postoperative 3 months,the hip joint function score of the study group was higher than that of the control group,with statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).The score of callus growth of the study group was higher than that of the control group at postoperative 2 and 3 months,with significant difference(P＜0.05).Conclusion Application of closed reduction and internal fixation with PFNA combined with Huayu Jiegu Decoction has the features of short healing time,high hip joint function score and high excellent rate in the treatment of senile femoral intertrochanteric fracture,which is worthy of popularization and application in primary hospitals.
