Abstract:Corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an acute infectious pneumonia discovered for the first time,which seriously harms people′s physical and mental health. Since the outbreak in Wuhan in December 2019, the disease has spread across the country. Till March 2, 2020, 80 174 people have been infected nationwide, and the death toll has reached 2915. The COVID-19 has been evaluated by the World Health Organization as a "public health emergency of international concern". The National Health Commission of the People′s Republic of China announced that the disease was included in a Class B infectious disease, and took Class A measures to prevent and control. In order to do well in epidemic prevention and control, the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University, according to the notice of the local health department, unified deployment arrangements after the outbreak of the COVID-19. The daily outpatient clinic of the department of otolaryngology was ceased, emergency management plan was launched, and the emergency otolaryngology service was implemented. The prevention and control work was carried out in an orderly manner. There was no infection of medical personnel or nosocomial infections, and preliminary results were achieved. This article summarizes the relevant work, so as to provide suggestions and guidance for further prevention and control of the epidemic situation.
