Abstract:Objective To explore the application of WeChat continuous nursing combined with peer education in patients with type 2 diabetes and its impact on patients′self-efficacy.Methods A total of 320 patients with type 2 diabetes who were admitted to the Yichun Second People′s Hospital from March 2018 to January 2020 were selected.They were divided into the intervention group and the control group using random number table method,160 patients in each group.Both groups were given Subcutaneous Insulin Injections or hypoglycemic drugs according to physicians′orders for blood glucose control and maintained routine treatment.The control group was given conventional diabetes health education,and the intervention group was given WeChat continuous nursing combined with peer education.The self-efficacy scale score,disease knowledge mastery and blood glucose control status were compared between the two groups.Results Before nursing,there was no statistically significant difference in self-efficacy score between the two groups (P>0.05).The self-efficacy scores in the two groups after 6 months of nursing were higher than those before nursing,the self-efficacy score in the intervention group was higher than that in the control group,with statistical differences(P<0.05).The total disease knowledge mastery rate after 6 months of nursing in the intervention group was higher than that in the control group,with statistical difference (P<0.05).Before nursing,there were no significant differences in fasting blood glucose,2 h postprandial blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin level between the two groups(P>0.05).The fasting blood glucose,2 h postprandial blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin level in the control group after 6 months of nursing were not statistically different from those before nursing (P>0.05).The fasting blood glucose,2 h postprandial blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin level in the intervention group after 6 months of nursing were lower than before nursing and those in the control group,with statistical differences(P<0.05).Conclusion WeChat continuous nursing combined with peer education is beneficial to improve the self-efficacy of diabetic patients,and can better supervise diabetic patients to exercise self-discipline,which is worthy of clinical promotion.
