Abstract:Objective To explore the mediating role of family care in the physical and mental comfort and well-being of elderly patients with chronic diseases.Methods A total of 326 elderly patients with chronic diseases who were treated in Jining No.1 People′s Hospital from May to July in 2020 were selected.The Family Care Index Questionnaire(Adaptation,Partnership,Growth,Affection and Resolve Index scale,APGAR),Simplified Comfort Status Scale for Elderly Chronic Diseases(CEPCS)and the Memorial University of Newfoundland Scale of Happiness(MUNSH)were used to investigate them.Results The APGAR total score of 326 patients with chronic diseases were(6.31±1.18)points,the CEPCS total score were(76.38±11.25)points,and the MUNSH total score were(28.49±5.35)points.Correlation analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between family care,comfort and happiness(P<0.01).The mediating effect analysis showed that the mediating effect of family care was 0.139.The Bootstrap test results showed that the mediating effect in 95% confidence interval of family care to subjective well-being was 0.112-0.169.Conclusion Family care plays a mediating role in the physical and mental comfort and well-being of elderly patients with chronic diseases,and can mediate the relationship between the two.
