Abstract:Objective To explore the changes of serum homocysteine(Hcy)and uric acid levels in patients with coronary heart disease and diabetes mellitus, and their correlation with the severity of coronary artery disease. Methods A total of 137 patients with coronary heart disease and diabetes mellitus who were enrolled in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine of People′s Hospital of Bozhou District in Zunyi City from June 2018 to October 2020 were included in the observation group. The observation group was divided into the low risk group(n=42),the medium-sange group(n=59),the high-risk group(n=36).30 patients with diabetic mellitus in the same period were selected as the control group. The levels of serum Hcy and uric acid in the control group and the observation group were compared, and the levels of serum Hcy and uric acid in the low-risk group, the medium-risk group and the high-risk group were recorded.Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between serum Hcy,uric acid and Gensini score. Results The levels of serum Hcy and uric acid in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There were significant difference in the levels of Hcy and uric acid among the three groups(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the level of Hcy between the low-risk group and the middle-risk group(P>0.05).The Hcy level of the high-risk group was higher than that of the low-risk group and the middle-risk group, the uric acid level of the middle-risk group and high-risk group were higher than that of the low-risk group, the uric acid level of the high-risk group was higher than that of the middle-risk group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Serum Hcy and uric acid were positively correlated with Gensini score(r=0.786,0.429, P<0.001).Conclusion The levels of serum Hcy and uric acid in patients with coronary heart disease and diabetes mellitus increase, and the levels of serum Hcy and uric acid are positively correlated with the degree of coronary artery disease.
