Abstract:Objective To explore the risk factors of diabetic patients with neck abscess. Methods A retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 220 diabetic patients admitted to Xiaolan People′s Hospital of Zhongshan City from January 2014 to September 2020,48 patients with neck abscess were set up as observation group, and 172 patients without neck abscess were set up as control group. The sex, age, diabetes course, personal hygiene, fasting plasma glucose(FPG),hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c),smoking,alcohol consumption, education level and nuclear factors of family economic condition were compared between two groups, and Logistic regression model was used to analyze the independent risk factors of diabetic patients with neck abscess. Results The results of univariate analysis showed that diabetic patients with neck abscess were associated with age, personal hygiene, diabetes course,FPG level and HbA1c level(P<0.05).A multivariate analysis Logistic the regression model showed that the age≥60 years(β=1.792,OR=2.089,95%CI=1.168-3.537),personal hygiene in general(β=1.615,OR=2.742,95%CI=1.496-4.875),FPG≥10.0 mmol/L(β=1.488,OR=4.925,95%CI=2.630-9.964),and HbA1c≥6.5%(β=1.527,OR=3.367,95%CI=2.072-5.528)were independent risk factors(P<0.05).Conclusion There are many factors that cause diabetes complicated with neck abscess, including age, general personal hygiene and hyperglycemia. The clinical should focus on these patients and take targeted nursing measures to prevent it.
