Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of sentinel lymph node biopsy combined with breast conserving surgery in the treatment of elderly breast cancer.Methods A total of 76 elderly patients with breast cancer diagnosed in our hospital from January 2017 to December 2017 were selected and randomly divided into the control group (36 cases)and the observation group (40 cases).The control group was treated with traditional radical surgery.The observation group was treated with sentinel lymph node biopsy combined with breast-conserving surgery.The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared.Results The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, and chest tube drainage time of the observation group were shorter than those of the control group, with significant difference (P ＜0.05).The total drainage volume of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, with significant difference (P＜0.05).The postoperative cosmetic excellent rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the postoperative quality of life score and shoulder joint functional score of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the local recurrence rate of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, the abduction angle of the shoulder joint and the range of the upper arm circumference of the observation group were larger than those of the control group, the total incidence rate of complication of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, with significant difference (P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the overall survival rate and disease-free survival rate between the two groups (P＞0.05).Conclusion Sentinel lymph node biopsy combined with breast-conserving surgery in the treatment of elderly breast cancer can promote the patient′s early recovery, and improve the quality of life of patients, which is a safe and reliable treatment for elderly breast cancer.
