Abstract:Objective To explore the expression and clinical significance of interferon-γ (IFN-γ), osteopontin (OPN)and interleukin-18 (IL-18) in serum and sputum supernatant from patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods Serum and sputum samples were collected both from 89 patients with pulmonary tuberculosis (pulmonary tuberculosis group) and 30 healthy individuals (healthy control group) in our hospital from November 2016 to December 2018.The levels of the three cytokines mentioned above were respectively detected by double antibody sandwich enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) technique and then the levels of IFN-γ, OPN, and IL-18 between the two groups were compared. Results The levels of IFN-γ, OPN, and IL-18 in the serum and sputum supernatant of the pulmonary tuberculosis group were higher than those of the healthy control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion It is of great significance for the auxiliary clinical diagnosis and the judgment of the disease prognosis due to the elevation of the IFN-γ, OPN, and IL-18 in serum and sputum supernatants from patients with pulmonary tuberculosis.
