Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of Insulin Glargine combined with Metformin on islet function and inflammatory factor levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods From June 2018 to May 2019,102 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were selected as research subjects,and they were divided into experimental group(n=51)and reference group(n=51)according to the random number table method.In the experimental group,Insulin Glargine+ Metformin was used,and in the reference group,Protamine Biosynthetic Human Insulin + Glargine Insulin was used.The islet function,inflammatory factor levels,and blood glucose levels of the two groups before and after treatment were compared.Results There were no significant differences in the C-peptide,postprandial C-peptide,hyper-sensitivity C reactive protein(hs-CRP),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),fasting blood glucose,2 h postprandial blood glucose,and glycated hemoglobin between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).The C-peptide and post-prandial C-peptide in the experimental group were higher than those in the reference group after treatment,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).In the experimental group,the levels of hs-CRP,TNF-α,fasting blood glucose,2 h postprandial blood glucose,and glycated hemoglobin were lower than those in the reference group after treatment,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions was lower than that of the reference group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus receiving the treatment of Insulin Glargine + Metformin obtain marked effects.Meanwhile,this regimen can improve patients′ islet function,inflammatory factor levels,and blood glucose levels.It is applicable to the treatment and promotion of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
