Abstract:Objective To investigate the application effect of new prone-positioning cushion in the spinal surgery of obese patients and its influence on the complications of respiratory and circulatory system. Methods Sixty obese patients who underwent spinal surgery in our hospital from January to October 2018 were enrolled in the study, they were divided into control group (n=30) and experimental group (n=30) according to random number table mtehod. The control group adopted conventional type of hollow square cushion, and the experimental group used a new prone-positioning cushion. The respiratory circulation index and skin compression of the two groups were compared. Results There were no significant differences in airway pressure, end-tidal carbon dioxide partial pressure, central venous pressure and arterial blood pressure between the two groups in the supine position for 10 min (P>0.05). The airway pressure, the end-tidal carbon dioxide partial pressure, the central venous pressure and the arterial blood pressure in experimental group in 20, 40 min prone position were all lower than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of vesicles between the two groups (P>0.05). The incidence of pressure sores, skin damage, erythema and skin indentation in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion In the spinal surgery, obese patients using a new prone-positioning cushion can effectively control the risk of complications of the respiratory and circulatory system and reduce the incidence of skin compression.
