Abstract:Endometrial polyp is a common gynecological diseases causing abnormal uterine bleeding, the morbidity is 24%to 25%,and the recurrence rate is high. The etiology and molecular biology pathogenesis remain still unclear.Currently,it is believed that endometrial polyp is associated with changes in receptor expression levels, imbalances of proliferation/apoptotic activity of endometrial cells.Studies show that serum estrogen level in patients with endometrial polyps is normal, but its local estrogen receptor levels increase. The formation of endometrial polyps may be related to increased expression of p63 and decreased expression of PTEN protein expression, which lead to the imbalance of proliferation and apoptosis in normal cells, inducing the formation of endometrial polyps. The possible roles of ER,p63,and PTEN in the development of endometrial polyps are reviewed.
