Abstract:Objective To explore the value of blood detection in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of anemia.Methods A total of 80 patients with anemia admitted in our hospital from October 2014 to October 2017 were selected as the subjects.According to the types of anemia,all the anaemic patients were divided into the thalassemia group (n=40)and tha iron deficiency anemia group (n=40).Meanwhile,40 healthy persons who came to the hospital in the same period were selected as the healthy control group.The blood cells of the three groups were measured,and the red blood cell count(RBC),the mean hemoglobin (MCH),the hemoglobin (Hb),the volume distribution width of red blood cell(RDW),the mean volume of red blood cell(MCV)and the ratio of RBC/MCV were analyzed.Results the MCV and MCH indexes of patients with the thalassemia group and the iron deficiency anemia group were significantly lower than those in the healthy control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The RBC/MCV and RBC indexes of the thalassemia group were significantly higher than those in the iron deficiency anemia group and the healthy control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The RDW indexes of the patients in the iron deficiency anemia group were significantly higher than those in the thalassemia group and the healthy control group,and the RBC and Hb indexes in the iron deficiency anemia group were significantly lower than those of the other two groups,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Detection of MCH,RDW,MCV and RBC/MCV ratio in blood of anemia patients is of great value in the diagnosis and differentiation of anemia.
