Advances in the study of application of combination of retroperitoneal laparoscopy and traditional Chinese medicine in treatment of upper ureteral calculi
Abstract:The current surgical procedures for the treatment of ureteral stones comprise extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy(ESWL),ureteroscopic lithotripsy(URSL),retroperitoneoscopic ureterolithotomy(RPUL),and minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy (mPCNL),of which RPUL is especially suitable for the treatment of upper ureteral calculi complicated with pyonephrosis.RPUL not only can remove the stones completely,reduce the intraoperative haemorrhage,and almost has no effect on the changes in the internal pressure of renal pelvis,with a low probability of complications including leakage of urine,ureteral stenosis and septic shock,but also can be used for intraoperative treatment of complications such as ureteral polyps.At the same time,treatment of urolithiasis with the traditional Chinese medicine has a very obvious advantage.The antipyretic drugs can relieve the fever.The drenched drugs can promote the excretion of toxins through urine,thus greatly reducing the risks of postoperative infection and fever.The combination of Chinese and Western medicine can promote the recovery of the patients,which has more and more extensive clinical application.This paper reviews the progress in research of application of combination of retroperitoneoscopy and traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of upper ureteral calculi.
