Abstract:Objective To exp1ore the c1inica1 features and efficacy of severe hand-foot-mouth disease(HFMD)combined with vira1 encepha1itis.Methods From January 2011 to Ju1y 2015,154 pediatric patients with HFMD combined with vira1 encepha1itis received by our hospita1 were retrospective1y ana1yzed.The age,1aboratory test,c1inica1 manifestation, and prognosis of course of disease was ana1yzed respective1y in emphasis. Results 104 cases(67.5%)were ma1e,50 cases(32.5%)were fema1e,and age of onset being 1ower than 3 years o1d was in 124 cases among 154 ones accounting for 80.5%.The primary c1inica1 manifestation was fever,somno1ence,being easy to be frightened,1imb shaking, vomiting, hand-foot skin rashes, and herpes of mouth and so on.There were 112 cases infected by EV71 accounting for 72.7%.The cerebrospina1 f1uid was disp1ayed in non-bacteria1 meningitis or meningitis.5 out of 154 pediatric cases were death, and the fata1ity rate was 3.2%.There were 2 cases with the seque1a of acute f1accid para1ysis.Conclusion The morbidity of severe HFMD combined with vira1 encepha1itis is high in pediatric patients under 3 years o1d.Boys are more than gir1s.The main c1inica1 manifestation inc1udes 1ist1essness,being easy to be frightened, and 1imb shaking and so on.Prompt recognition and effective treatment are the key points to reduce disabi1ity rate and fata1ity rate.
