Abstract:The late stage of chronic renal failure is uremia, the main laboratory tests of uremia such as urea nitrogen, creatinine are often only able to reflect the degree of disease progression and dialysis effect.Uremic patients are often accompanied by anemia caused by abnormal ironmetabolism and severe anemia will greatly affect the quality of life of patients and even the long-term survival of patients,so uremic patients often need to carry out some of the detection of iron metabolism related indicators to guide clinicians tomake up iron in time in order to correct anemia and improve the quality of life of patients. At present, themain indexes of ironmetabolism are serum iron, total iron binding capacity, serum ferritin. In recent years,a new type of iron regulatory protein (hepcidin)has been discovered.Subsequently, more and more studies showed that hepcidin is an important factor in the level of iron metabolism in uremic hemodialysis patients. This papermainly from the perspective of laboratory testing reviews the basic theory of uremia disease and the commonly used laboratory tests,at the same time investigates the correlation indexes of ironmetabolism and the important role of iron in the patientswith uremia.
