Abstract:ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical application and effect of intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI).MethodsAltogether 32 cases of patients diagnosed as AMI,admitted into our hospital from February 2013 to June 2015 and treated with IABP and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)were selected as study group.Another 30 patients with AMI who accepted routine treatment during the same period in our hospital were selected as control group.Changes of hemodynamics were observed before and after treatment in two groups, and the incidence of complications between two groups were compared and analyzed.ResultsHemodynamic changes in two groups were seen obviously(P<0.05).Among which greater improvements occurred in study group than control group, there were no dead cases in the two groups intra-operatively.But 9 cases of post-operative complications happened in study group, during the period of hospitalization,6 cases of critical illnesses and 4 cases of deaths occurred post-operatively in study group. In contrast,16 cases of post-operative complications,11 cases of critical illnesses and 7 cases of deaths occurred in control group.ConclusionIABP in patients with AMI has achieved remarkable results with intra-operative safety, minor post-operative complications and lower mortality rate.
