Nutritional status of patients with malignant tumor and its effect on quality of life

Abstract:ObjectiveTo investigate the nutritional status of patients with malignant tumor and its effect on quality of life.MethodsA total of 300 malignant tumor patients treated in our hospital from March 2016 to March 2017 were selected as study subjects,and investigate by General Information Questionnaire,subjective global assessment(SGA),EORTC Core Quality of Life Questionnaire-C30(EORTC QLQ-C30).The effect of nutritional status on the quality of life was analyzed by variance analysis.ResultsThe incidence of malnutrition among the 300 inpatients was 59.4%(178/300);the higher the degree of malnutrition in the patient,the lower the overall health status,the role function,the social function,the physical function,and the emotional field score,and the higher the fatigue,insomnia,shortness of breath,loss of appetite,pain, constipation,nausea and vomiting,and diarrhea field score.ConclusionMost patients with malignant tumor have malnutrition,which will affect their quality of life.We should take appropriate intervention to improve the nutritional status of patients,thereby improving the quality of life of patients with malignant tumors.
