A survey of students′satisfaction with the course content setting and teaching of Maternal and Child Health during the period of COVID-19

Abstract:Objective To understand students′demands for the course content setting of Maternal and Child Health Science during the period of COVID-19,and to explore students′degree of teaching satisfaction,so as to provide a basis for optimizing the course setting,improving the teaching quality and deepening the teaching reform.Methods A total of 25 students majoring in Preventive Medicine in the second semester of Xiamen University during the period of COVID-19 from 2019 to 2020 were selected as the main subjects.They were taught on the DingTalk software network platform.After the Maternal and Child Health course,a questionnaire was conducted to investigate the needs of course content and the degree of teaching satisfaction of students.Results Students′satisfaction with online teaching was 92%,however,the rate of worrying about the teaching quality of online teaching was as high as 52%.At the top of the list of chapters students need to know was the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of AIDS;and the chapter ranking first of interest to students was adolescent health care.Students′satisfaction got the highest level with "The Appropriateness of Enumerating Cases" and "The illumination of the Enumerating Cases".Conclusion Students are generally satisfied with online teaching methods,but they are generally worried about the teaching quality.This teaching method is suitable for the teaching of Maternal and Child Health,which has profound significance to cultivate comprehensive and practical talents.
