Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of nursing intervention on reducing the incidence of phlebitis caused by intravenous indwelling needle in newborns.Methods 80 of the newborns received treatment in our hospital from March 2014 to December 2016 were selected as the study subjects.All the newborns were given intravenous indwelling needle,randomly divided into two groups according to the random table method,each with 40 cases.The newborns in control group received routine nursing care,while the newborns in observation group received additional nursing intervention.The incidence of phlebitis,phlebitis grade,the family′s satisfaction with nursing and so on were compared between the two groups.Results The incidence of phlebitis in the observation group (7.5%)was lower than that in the control group(27.5%),and the severity of the phlebitis of newborns in the observation group was more mild than that in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The family′s satisfaction in the observation group (97.5%)was higher than that in the control group(82.5%),and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Nursing intervention can help reduce the occurrence of phlebitis in the nursing service of intravenous indwelling needles in newborns,and it is worth promoting the harmonious nursing relationship,is worthy of clinical application.
