Abstract:Objective To investigate the value of Xpert MTB/RIF UItra (referred to as Xpert UItra) detection of pleural effusion in the clinical diagnosis of tuberculous pleurisy. Methods From June 2018 to June 2020, 120 patients with suspected tuberculosis pleurisy admitted to Jiangxi Chest Hospital were selected as the research subjects. The pleural effusion of all patients was collected.According to pathological examination as the gold standard, the patients were divided into confirmed group (58 cases), suspected group (42 cases) and non-tuberculosis group (20 cases).Xpert MTB/RIF (referred to as Xpert) and Xpert UItra were used to detect the pleural effusion of patients in the three groups respectively, and the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of the two detection methods were discussed. Results In the confirmed group, the positive rate of Xpert UItra test was 96.55%, which was higher than that of Xpert (82.76%), with statistical difference (P<0.05).In the suspected diagnosis group, the positive rate of Xpert UItra detection was 66.67%,which was higher than that of Xpert (45.24%), with statistical difference (P<0.05).In the non-tuberculosis group, the positive rate of Xpert UItra detection was 5.00%, lower than that of Xpert (30.00%), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of Xpert UItra for tuberculous pleurisy were 96.50%,95.00% and 96.15%, which were all higher than those of Xpert (82.76%, 70.00% and 79.49%), and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion In the diagnosis of tuberculous pleurisy, the use of Xpert Uitra for the diagnosis of pleural effusion in patients has high accuracy, sensitivity and specificity, and has high diagnostic value.
