Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of automatic whole blood component separator in the preparation of concentrated platelets by buffy coat method.Methods A total of 108 bags of 400 ml of whole blood collected from Maoming Central Blood Station from January 2020 to December 2020 were selected as the study subjects, and divided into the control group (54 bags) and the experimental group (54 bags) according to the random number table method.The control group was centrifuged at 22℃, concentrated platelets were prepared by the artificial buffy coat method.The experimental group was centrifuged at 22℃, concentrated platelets were prepared by buffy coat method using a fully automated whole blood component separator.The concentrated platelet pass rate, concentrated platelet count and acid base were compared between the two groups.Results The concentrated platelet count in the experimental group was greater than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The pH value were compared between the two groups, the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05).The control red cell count in the experimental group was smaller than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The qualified rate of concentrated platelets were compared between the two groups, the difference was not statistically significant (P >0.05).Conclusion Automatic whole blood component separator in the preparation of concentrated platelets by buffy coat method is better than the artificial method.
