Application effect of single-layer cosmetic suture in perineal incision of vaginal delivery in full-term pregnancy

Abstract：Objective To study the application effect of single-layer cosmetic suture in the perineal incision for vaginal delivery of full-term pregnancy. Methods A total of 88 full-term pregnant women who underwent vaginal delivery in Yichun People′s Hospital from January 2019 to April 2020 were selected as the research objects, and they were divided into the control group and the experimental group by random number table method, with 44 cases in each group.The control group was sutured with discontinuous suture method, and the experimental group was sutured with singlelayer cosmetic suture method. Perineal wound healing, pain score, intraoperative blood loss, healing time, postoperative scar formation, perineal tear, satisfaction and infection rate were compared between the two groups. Results The perineal wound healing of the experimental group was better than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05). At 48 and 72 h after surgery, visual analogue scale (VAS) scores of the two groups were lower than those at 24 h after surgery, the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05). At 72 h after surgery, VAS scores of the two groups were lower than those at 48 h after surgery, and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05). The VAS score of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group at 48 and 72 h after surgery, and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05). The amount of intraoperative bleeding in the experimental group was less than that in the control group, and the healing time was shorter than that in the control group,the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05). The maternal keloid of experimental group was better than that of control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05). The incidence of full-thickness tear and skin tear in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05). The satisfaction of pregnant women in experimental group was higher than that in control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of maternal infection between the two groups (P＞0.05). Conclusion The single-layer cosmetic suture of the perineal incision in full-term pregnancy and vaginal delivery can reduce the amount of intraoperative blood loss, relieve the pain of the incision of the parturient, shorten the incision healing time, thereby speed up wound healing and reduce scar formation.
