Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of visual laryngoscopy and direct laryngoscopy in endotracheal intubation of obese patients.Methods Fifty-six obese patients who underwent elective oral intubation general anesthesia in the Department of Anesthesiology,Yangjiang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May 2020 to April 2021 were selected as the research subjects.According to the odd and even numbers of admission order,they were divided into direct laryngoscopy group (28 cases)and visual laryngoscopy group (28 cases).Cormark-Lehane endoscopic grading(C-L grading),number of trial insertion,success rate of endotracheal intubation,success rate of one-time endotracheal intubation,time of endotracheal intubation and incidence of complications were compared between the two groups.Results The CL classification of the visual laryngoscopy group was better than that of the direct laryngoscopy group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).The number of attempts in the visual laryngoscopy group was less than that of the direct laryngoscopy group,and the success rate of one-time tracheal intubation was higher than that of the direct laryngoscopy group,in the visual laryngoscopy group,the tracheal intubation time was shorter than that in the direct laryngoscopy group,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the success rate of endotracheal intubation between the two groups (P＞0.05).The total incidence of complications in the visual laryngoscopy group was lower than that of the direct laryngoscopy group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion Visual laryngoscope has obvious advantages compared with direct laryngoscope in tracheal intubation of obese patients.It has obvious glottis exposure,few attempts,high success rate of one-time endotracheal intubation,short endotracheal intubation time,and low incidence of complications,which is worthy of application and promotion.
