Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effect of Taijiquan intervention in the treatment of insomnia. Methods A retrospective analysis of 80 patients with insomnia admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Jiangxi University of Chinese Medicine from December 2016 to June 2018 was made and they were divided into the control group (40 cases)and the observation group (40 cases) according to different intervention methods, the control group was treated with sleep hygiene education method, and the observation group was treated with 48-style Taijiquan. Patients in both groups intervened for two months. The clinical efficacy and Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) scores of patients before and after intervention were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Before the intervention, there were no statistically significant differences between the two groups before the intervention in the time to fall asleep, sleep quality, sleep time, sleep efficiency, sleep disturbance, daytime function and total PSQI score (P>0.05).After the intervention, the time to fall asleep, sleep quality, sleep time, sleep efficiency, sleep disturbance, daytime function and PSQI total scores of the observation group after intervention were lower than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Taijiquan intervention can effectively prolong the sleep time of patients with insomnia, improve their sleep quality.
