Abstract:Diabetic nephropathy (DN), defined as urinary albumin excretion rate (UAER) >300 mg/24 h and declining renal function in a patient with known diabetes mellitus (DM) in the absence of urinary tract infection or any other renal diseases.DN is a common microvascular complication of DM.Searching for biomarkers with high sensitivity and specificity is helpful for early diagnosis and treatment of DN to improve the prognosis of patients. In order to provide researchers with the current research status of DN, this paper will summarize and discuss the research progress of biomarkers in the early diagnosis of DN based on glomerular and tubular injury, oxidative stress, inflammation and proteomics, hoping that biomarkers can be used in clinical work as soon as possible.
