Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of essential balm combined with ethanol on local pain in patients with venipuncture. Methods A total of 100 patients who underwent venipuncture in our hospital from July 2018 to February 2019 were selected and divided into experimental group(50 cases)and control group(50 cases)according to different experimental methods. In the experimental group,0.3 ml of essential balm was applied to the puncture site, after 2minutes,ethanol was applied to the conventional disinfection and intravenous indwelling needle puncture, the control group was only given essential balm.Total incidence of pain and visual analogue scale(VAS)score in two groups were compared between two groups. Results The total incidence of pain and VAS scores in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The experimental effect of essential balm combined with ethanol to reduce local pain of venipuncture is better than that of simple oil phlegm.
