Abstract:Objective To analyze the association of blood uric acid (UA) with cardiovascular disease inuremia patients receiving maintenance hemodialysis. Methods A total of 123 patients with chronic hepatic insufficiency maintenance hemodialysis who chose to visit our hospital from June 2018 to August 2019 were divided UA elevated group (n=78)and UA normal group (n=45) according to the UA normal reference value of 420 μmol/L as the cut-off point.Total cholesterol (TC), triglyeride (TG), low density cholesterol (LDL-C) and high-density cholesterol (HDL-C), serum creatinine (Scr) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) were evaluated by automatic biochemistry analyser. Results Age, proportion of males, prevalence of hypertension, proportion of smokers, incidence of coronary heart disease after dialysis, Scr, UA,LDL-C, and TG in the elevated UA group were higher than those in the normal UA group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05);while HDL-C was lower than that in the UA normal group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).There were no significant differences in BMI, age, diabetes mellitus and TC between the two groups(P>0.05).Logistic analysis showed that TG (β=1.582, OR=4.867, 95%CI=3.284-6.355), LDL-C (β=2.547, OR=12.766, 95%CI=10.576-15.423) and coronary heart disease after dialysis (β=2.207, OR=9.085, 95%CI=6.702-11.247)were the independent risk factors for the increase of serum uric acid (P<0.05), among which LDL-C was more closely related.UA>420 μmol/L (β=0.138, OR=1.148, 95%CI=1.002-1.303) and BUN (β=1.412, OR=4.105, 95%CI=2.695-5.587) were the risk factors of coronary heart disease after dialysis (P<0.05), but UA>420 μmol/L was more closely related to them. Conclusion Serum uric acid level in maintenance hemodialysis patients is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease in hemodialysis patients and is related to disorders of lipid metabolism
