Abstract:Objective To compare the effects of different doses of glucocorticoids in the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus. Methods A total of 65 patients with systemic lupus erythematosus in our hospital from January 2013 to December 2017 were selected. According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group(32 cases) and the observation group (33 cases). The control group was treated with small dose of glucocorticoid, while the observation group was treated with large dose of glucocorticoid. The clinical efficacy, the level of serum parathyroid hormone (PTH), bone mineral density (BMD), bone metabolism index, adverse reaction occurrence, and bone injury rate of the two groups were compared. Results The total clinical effectiveness rate, PTH level and bone injury rate in the observation group were all higher than those in the control group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). The triangular BMD and bone-specific alkaline phosphatase in the observation group after treatment were lower than those in the control group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusion The use of high-dose glucocorticoids in the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus obtains a better effect compared with that in a small dose, which can improve bone metabolism, but is prone to bone damage. Therefore, it is necessary to choose a reasonable glucocorticoid with the consideration of specific clinical conditions.
