Abstract:Objective To analyze the expression of DNA topoisomerase Ⅱalpha (TopoⅡα) in breast cancer patients and its clinical significance. Methods A total of 144 breast cancer patients admitted to our hospital from June 2017 to August 2018 were selected. All patients were pathologically diagnosed as invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast. No preoperative radiotherapy or chemotherapy was given. After admission, they received surgical treatment. The expression of TopoⅡα protein was detected by immunohistochemical method. The correlation between the positive expression of TopoⅡα and the clinical characteristics of breast cancer was observed. Results The positive rate of TopoⅡα protein in breast cancer patients with pathological grade Ⅲwas higher than that with pathological grade Ⅰ-Ⅱ (P<0.05).The positive rate of TopoⅡα protein in breast cancer patients with Ki-67 positive was higher than that with Ki-67 negative(P<0.05).Spearman rank correlation analysis showed that there was a significant positive correlation between pathological grading, Ki-67 and TopoⅡα expression in breast cancer tissues (P<0.05).Conclusion The expression of TopoⅡα protein is significantly correlated with the pathological grading.
