Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of swallowing training on dysphagia in tumor patients with radiotherapy. Methods Seventy-six patients with dysphagia after radiotherapy from September to November 2017 in our hospital were selected as study subjects. They were divided into control group and observation group by a random number table.Patients in control group were provided with routine nursing, while in observation group, swallowing function training was performed on the basis of the control group. The functional oral intake scale (FOIS)score, drinking water test, and quality of life were observed before and after the intervention in the two groups. Results Before the intervention, there was no significant difference in FOIS scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After 1 and 3 months intervention,FOIS score in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).Before intervention, there was no significant difference in the drinking water test results(P>0.05).The drinking water test result in the observation group after intervention was superior to that in the control group (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the MD Anderson Dysphagia Inventory(MDADI)score between the two groups before intervention(P>0.05).The MDADI score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Swallowing function training can effectively relieve dysphagia in tumor patients after radiotherapy. It can also promote oral intake and improve patient’s quality of life, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
