Objective To investigate the effect of double Kirschner wire antegrade intramedullary fixation in the treatment of fifth metacarpal neck fractures. Methods 60 cases of fifth metacarpal neck fracture patients from June 2014 to June 2016 in our hospital were selected, according to different treatment methods, they were divided into the observation group(33 cases)and the control group(27 cases). The observation group was treated with double Kirschner wire and antegrade intramedullary fixation, and the control group was treated with micro condylar plate and screw fixation. The average operative time, fracture healing time and hand function recovery of the two groups of fracture patients were recorded and compared. Results The average operation time of the observation group was(19.0±3.1)min,which was shorter than that of the control group ([48.0±2.6]min),and the difference between the two groups was significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the time of fracture healing between the two groups(P>0.05).According to the TAM standard for evaluation assessment, there was no significant difference in the recovery of hand function between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Using Kirschner needle operation method in the treatment of the fifth metacarpal neck fracture in patients has little trauma and short operative time for patients,it can promote early recovery of patients.Micro condyle plate and internal fixation is a better treatment for comminuted metacarpal neck fracture.
